Thirty!!

I turned 30 a few weeks ago and while I'm not one to be particularly nostalgic, I did take a few minutes to reflect on the changes in my last 10 years. When I turned 20, I was an accounting student at Calvin College, lived with Amy & Pam, was dating Jack, and likely had a small celebration at the house I now call home. Soon thereafter, I got engaged, had a pretty scary infection and subsequent surgery all related to an attempt to fix my awful skin issues, got married, graduated Calvin and started grad school at GVSU, started my job as an auditor at Crowe, and got my CPA license. We lived the life of a couple of DINKs with little responsibilites and lots of time for fun. We went to Hawaii, New York, Boston, Myrtle Beach, and Florida (a few times).
Miami - 2005
New York - 2006
Hawaii - 2006
Fort Lauderdale - 2007

Ft Lauderdale - 2008
Boston 2009
Then we decided it was time for a baby.  That whole processs didn't go exactly as planned but eventually, and after a lot of tears, heartache, and prayers, we got our twins!  If you would have told me in March of 2009 (at age 27 and not pregnant), that I would have three kids by the time I was 30, I would have laughed (or cried) on impact.  These years with Samuel and Tyler and now Lucas have been wonderful and awful, rewarding and exhausting, fun and not-so-fun, and basically everything I had ever hoped for.  I still have moments when I look at my family and think "WOW" ... those three boys are ALL MINE (and Jack's)!  I have three babies!  I'm officially a MOM in her 30's!

It's been a great last 10 years and I'm sure the next 10 will be full of surprises. I rang in my 30th year with my husband, family, and friends (celebrating both mine and my good friend Susan's 30th birthdays) and I hope for the same in another 10 (or 20 or 30).
